Rooftop Information
You may draw or select a polygon representing your rooftop on our map.
We use this information to estimate the usable rooftop area, determine potential solar panel placement, and calculate potential solar generation.
Contact Information
When you request a solar estimate or contact us, we may collect your:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
We use this information to contact you regarding your solar estimate, inquiry, or potential installation.
Electricity Usage Information
We may ask you to provide your average monthly electricity bill. This information is used to estimate your electricity consumption and help determine an appropriate solar system size.
Solar Requirements
You may also provide information about your preferred solar generation or energy requirements, such as:
- How much of your daytime electricity usage you want solar to cover — approximately 50%, 75%, or 100%. Where your rooftop cannot fit any of these, we instead offer the largest system your roof can hold.
- Battery charging only, where panels are sized purely to charge a battery and you continue drawing from the grid during the day
- Which of our five night-time battery storage tiers you want: no storage, or approximately 20%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of your night-time usage backed up
- Whether you want your panels mounted on an elevated structure above your rooftop
- Other preferences you provide when using our solar calculator
We use this information to generate a solar recommendation based on your requirements.
Information Stored in Your Browser
Our solar calculator is a multi-step flow, so we keep your entire session in your own browser’s localStorage as you move between steps. This includes the coordinates and outline of the rooftop you drew, the usable area and panel count we calculated from it, your name, email address, phone number, electricity bill range, your coverage and battery selections, and the resulting quote.
This data stays on your device and is not readable by us until you submit the form at the end of the flow. It persists after you close the tab so you can pick the flow back up, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this website.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

- Recommend an appropriate solar system

4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services to run this website and our solar calculator:
- Google Maps Platform — we use the Google Places and Geocoding APIs to turn the address you type into coordinates. The address you enter and your approximate location are sent to Google.
- Mapbox — we use Mapbox GL JS and the Mapbox Static Images API to display the satellite map you draw your roof on and the map images shown in your quote. Your map coordinates and roof outline are sent to Mapbox.
- Vercel — this website is hosted on Vercel, and we use Vercel Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how visitors move through the calculator. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
- Resend — when you submit a quote request, we use Resend to email your quote to you and to notify our team. Your name, email address, phone number, and quote details pass through Resend.
These third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
However, no method of transmitting or storing information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, respond to inquiries, maintain business records, or comply with legal obligations.
The retention period may vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
